Girls Leading the Change
Safe spaces, sports, and mentorship that help adolescent girls lead with confidence.
Program Area: Women Empowerment | Focus: Adolescents
Leadership begins with voice. PFMECT creates safe spaces where adolescent girls meet weekly to learn life skills, participate in sports, and build peer support. These spaces are designed to encourage confidence, decision‑making, and resilience — qualities that directly influence schooling and well‑being.
Mentors guide sessions on health awareness, digital safety, and goal‑setting. Over time, participants lead community events, support younger peers, and advocate for issues that matter to them.
What we focus on
- Confidence‑building through group discussions and role‑play.
- Sports and teamwork to strengthen agency and leadership.
- Mentorship that bridges school, family, and community support.
In practice: Every cohort completes a “community challenge†— a small initiative led by the girls themselves.
