On 17 July 2026, Premwati Fakirchand Memorial Educational and Charitable Trust (PFMECT) successfully organized a Corporate Blood Donation Drive at Alternicq Limited in Bengaluru in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society, Karnataka State Branch. The initiative brought together employees, volunteers, and healthcare professionals with a shared purpose — to strengthen community blood reserves and encourage the spirit of voluntary blood donation.

The event reflected how partnerships between corporate organizations, healthcare institutions, and non-profit organizations can create meaningful social impact while promoting awareness about the importance of regular blood donation.

About the Initiative

The Corporate Blood Donation Drive was organized under LifeReady, PFMECT’s health initiative that promotes preventive healthcare, community awareness, and lifesaving volunteerism.

The objective of the event was to make blood donation convenient and accessible for working professionals while encouraging employees to become regular voluntary blood donors.

With increasing demand for blood across hospitals throughout the year, corporate workplaces provide an excellent platform to mobilize healthy individuals who are willing to contribute to this critical healthcare need.

Planning and Collaboration

The success of the drive was made possible through careful planning and strong collaboration between all stakeholders.

PFMECT coordinated the overall planning, employee engagement, volunteer management, and event execution, while the Indian Red Cross Society, Karnataka State Branch, provided experienced medical professionals, donor screening, blood collection equipment, and ensured that every donation followed established medical and safety protocols.

Alternicq Limited extended valuable support by providing the venue, encouraging employee participation, and facilitating smooth coordination throughout the event.

This collaborative approach ensured that the donation process remained safe, efficient, and comfortable for every participant.

“When PFMECT approached us with this initiative, we knew it aligned perfectly with our values. Seeing our employees come forward so enthusiastically reaffirmed that corporate spaces can be powerful platforms for social good.”

Creating Awareness Before the Drive

Prior to the event, awareness activities were conducted to educate employees about:

  • The importance of voluntary blood donation
  • Eligibility criteria for donors
  • Common myths and misconceptions
  • Health benefits associated with regular blood donation
  • Safety measures followed during the donation process

These awareness efforts helped employees make informed decisions and encouraged many first-time donors to participate with confidence.

The Donation Process

On the day of the event, participants followed a structured and medically supervised donation process.

Each donor completed registration before undergoing a health screening conducted by qualified medical professionals from the Indian Red Cross Society. The screening included basic health assessments such as blood pressure, haemoglobin levels, medical history, and eligibility verification.

Eligible donors then proceeded with blood donation under the supervision of trained healthcare staff.

Following the donation, participants were provided with refreshments and were advised to rest briefly before returning to their regular activities.

Throughout the camp, the highest standards of hygiene, donor safety, and medical care were maintained.

“This was my first time donating blood. I was nervous at first, but the medical team made the entire process so smooth and comfortable. Knowing that one unit of blood can save up to three lives — that feeling is incredible.”
— First-time Donor, Alternicq Limited

Building a Culture of Voluntary Blood Donation

One of the most encouraging aspects of the event was the enthusiasm shown by employees who willingly contributed to a cause that directly benefits patients in need.

Many participants shared that this was their first experience donating blood, while several returning donors expressed their commitment to continue supporting future blood donation initiatives.

Events like these help build a workplace culture where social responsibility becomes a shared value rather than an occasional activity.

Voluntary blood donation remains one of the simplest yet most impactful ways individuals can contribute to public healthcare without financial contribution.

Partnership that Created Impact

Healthcare initiatives become more effective when organizations collaborate with shared purpose.

PFMECT sincerely appreciates the support of the Indian Red Cross Society, Karnataka State Branch, whose experienced medical team ensured a safe and professionally managed donation process throughout the event.

The Trust also extends its gratitude to the leadership and employees of Alternicq Limited for their enthusiastic participation and commitment toward community welfare.

The collective efforts of donors, volunteers, coordinators, and healthcare professionals transformed the event into a meaningful example of responsible corporate citizenship.

“Every camp we organize strengthens the belief that communities can come together to solve critical healthcare challenges. Alternicq Limited and the Indian Red Cross Society made this drive truly impactful. We look forward to many more such collaborations.”
