Affordable Medical Education in India – Vision 2030 for Every Aspiring Doctor
A long-term mission by Premwati Fakirchand Memorial Educational & Charitable Trust (PFMECT) to make quality medical education accessible, affordable, and inclusive for underprivileged communities across India through MBBS scholarships, medical college partnerships, and community healthcare programs.
Why affordable medical education in India matters
India faces a severe shortage of doctors, especially in rural and underserved regions. With a doctor-to-patient ratio of 1:1,500 in rural areas — far below the WHO recommended standard — the cost of private medical education (often exceeding ₹50 lakhs for MBBS) has become prohibitive for most families. This creates a healthcare gap that disproportionately affects the poor. Our affordable medical education initiative aims to bridge this gap by creating pathways for meritorious students from disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue medical careers through scholarships, mentorship, and institutional partnerships.
- Address the doctor-to-patient ratio gap in rural India.
- Remove financial barriers to quality medical education.
- Build a pipeline of community-rooted healthcare professionals.
- Strengthen India's healthcare infrastructure from the ground up.

Digital learning platforms, simulation labs, and modern facilities to deliver world-class medical education at a fraction of the cost.
